COVID-SAFE practices at Dural Music Studios
Please see below for important & current updates on Dural Music Centre Lessons and our COVID-SAFE Practices to ensure the safety of our students, teachers and wider families.
There are currently no concerns regarding Private Instrumental Music Tuition. Dural Music Centre is committed to continually providing a safe and healthy learning environment for our students and their families. As such, the following additional measures are in place:
DMC Studio COVID-SAFE Upgrades
- All studios have been fitted with Air Purifier / Dehumidifiers equipped with HEPA twin-stage filtration.
As well as our A/C units being plumbed to pull in external air, all filters being regularly disinfected, and our studios opened to fresh air as much as possible, these Filtration units utilise HEPA and Charcoal filtering to extract micro-allergens from the ambient air within the studios.
- All studios have had furniture and fixtures minimised to maximise social distancing opportunities within the studios for all instruments.
- We have several Perspex Hygiene Screens specifically for Woodwind Instruments, which can be used as necessary.
These shields are designed to deflect the air emitted from the sound holes of woodwind instruments away from other occupants of the room, to allow any airborne droplets to dissipate safely.
- Studios continue to be disinfected regularly with aerosol disinfectant and can be used by teachers on common surfaces between lessons.
Other Sanitisation / COVID-SAFE Measures
In addition to the above, we have also completed the following COVID-19 upgrades;
- Hand Sanitiser Stations installed in the Main Foyer, and both the downstairs and upstairs Waiting Rooms.
- QR Code Check-in for non-regular visitors to our DMC Studios.
- Increased Cleaning & Disinfecting of all Common Areas within our Studios.
As per current advice, face masks are not mandatory, however, students and parents/carers are welcome to continue wearing masks as directed by their health professional.
Despite current recommendations, we fully understand that some students and their families are more comfortable continuing music education via Zoom.
Our studios are all equipped for online learning and Zoom lessons are available as a one-off alternative for students who are unwell or concerned about any symptoms. Simply email firstname.lastname@example.org at least 24 hours prior to your lesson with your change in preference, and we will make the necessary arrangements and notify your teacher accordingly.
We have a dedicated NBN network established for Zoom lessons, in addition to extenders installed across our studio building to ensure optimal WIFI coverage and more seamless Zoom education.
Please rest assured that we are continually monitoring all updates at a State and Federal level regarding COVID-19 best practice, and will continue to act on any advice issued to ensure we are providing an appropriate environment to safely allow the continuity of Music Education for our Students.
